Winding down....
Only 1 week left in the adventure, but the fun still continues. The frustrations of Rio have subsided quite a bit as the learning curve has settled a bit. The portugese has not really improved, but I´ve met enough Spanish / English speaking friends that it doesn´t really matter.
Not a whole lot to report over the past week. The sleeping schedule has definitely been altered to the normal US schedule. I now spend most of my time enjoying the night activities, with an occasional motivation for a day trip here or there. On a side note, my apartment in Rio has become a pseudo international hostel as 2 fellow travelers (1 from Australia and 1 from Germany) have moved in to the apartment to join in on the festivities -- the rental business continues!
The coming week promises to hold some new excitement as I´ll be joining some fellow travelers for a 4 day trip to Salvador, an eccentric town on the Northeastern coast which still maintains a rich african influence. There should be one more quality posting before the trip is over, so stay tuned!
I´ll be back in the good ´ol states on 8/16.

It is about time you returned to the states. This place doesn't know what to do without you. There are too many women who are not being hit on. The worst part is they don't know they are missing the experience of a lifetime. You have been gracing the rest of the world with your presence but have been denying your home country. We miss you.
Love, Spanky
